As a member of the Washington Cattlmen's Association (WCA) you are entiled to a wide variety of benefits and services. Members are the backbone of the associaiton. Annually the membership meets and set the policy for the Association of which, the Executive Vice President follows through for the coming year. We have 11 committees including Animal Health, Breeds, Livestock ID, Game/Farmer/Sportsman, Finance, Membership, Land Planning, Public Lands, Research Beef Cattle Improvement, Marketing and Trade, and Water and Ecology. Members are encouraged at their county level to participate on these committees. We also have 7 districts and each district represents 3 - 4 counties with a district representative.
 

We are continually striving to see that Washington's Cattle Producers needs and interests are met. The WCA Executive Vice President works in Olympia lobbying during the legislative session and continues to work with department heads and legislators throughout the year. Just this November the WCA showcased their outstanding efforts when working with departments. The Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the WCA that will start a series of managed grazing pilot programs...(read more)

Also, the EVP has been working with the State Department of Ecology on the AFO/CAFO regulations and helping members in the Southeast corner of the state on some litigation.
